Dutasan Mountain (두타산)
In every mountain lies a story, waiting to be revealed, like trees that thrive in unexpected places, showing beauty and resilience.
About the mountain
Head over for a weekend away from the busy city of Seoul and visit Dutasan with it’s many wonderful sights. Wind down at a frozen waterfall (well, usually), be amazed to see a naturally occurring Buddha face in stone, or marvel at the formations at Battle Rock, a sight to behold.

About Us
We are Dutasan fanatics. So we dedicated a website to it, to showcase all this mountain has to offer!

1353 meter
How do I get to Dutasan?
The best place to start is Mureunggyegok Valley, there is a bus station (sheltered!)
How long does it take to go to the top?
From Mureunggyegok Valley (bus station), the fastest route takes about 3/4 hours to the peak. That is the route to Dutasan Fortress. There is a map at the entrance, showing the route. Find more direction information here.
Can I sleep on the mountain?
There is a camping site nearby and a small hotel, but you can not sleep on the mountain. There is also a very cool temple stay experience, but for hiking we recommend staying in the nearby town of Dong Hae and travel by car (or bus). They have many airbnb units for short/long term rent.
